purple swirl
1. Create a new image, any size. I did 600x600. Fill it with black.
2. Now add Filter> Render> Lens Flare, about as well as here:
3. Apply Filter> Distort> Twirl, with these values:
4. Press CTRL + U, and set the parameters as below:
5. Duplicate the layer (CTRL + J), and set the blending mode to Screen
6. result:
