This tutorial will show you how to create a retro abstract text effect with retro font. The lesson is designed for beginners, in it you will find a bunch of tips and tricks to create a beautiful text effect. I'll show you a few ways to create abstract effect, in order to see your work looked really cool, we'll use the slice tool to create your own "striped" brush. So let's get started!
Step 1
Create a new document (in this case, size does not matter), select the tool Gradient Tool (G) and draw a gradient in the direction indicated in the figure:
Create a new layer above the «background». Draw or use the filter Render> Clouds to create a "cloud" in the middle and bottom of the image (at the locations specified in the picture) - it will serve as the basis for creating text effect.
Tip: Do not add too many "clouds", this effect should be barely noticeable.
You can also try the transformation of "Perspective" (Perspective) (Edit> Free Transform> Perspective) to the clouds layer to give a layer that's the form:
Step 2
Download Akka(http://www.dafont.com/akka.font?fpp=50) font and type the desired text middle. The author used the yellow font.
Double click on the text layer in the Layers palette and set the following "Layer Style":
Here's what you get:
Double duplicate the original text layer (Ctrl + J) and move each copy of the text layer slightly up and to the left, as shown below. Reduce the Opacity (transparency) of the last copies of the layer to 15%, and the transparency of the layer copy immediately following the original layer - up to 40%. You will get the effect as if the text is layers:
Step 3
Now let's create a "striped" Brush Create a new document the same size as your job. Create a new layer and place it above the layer "background". Select a tool slice tool:
Right-click on the canvas and select "divide slice".
In the window that opens, select "Divide vertically into" and set the value of "10", then click OK:
Next, select the tool Rectangular marquee tool and select a second rectangle (hold the Shift key when you select)
Fill the selection with black (Edit> Fill):
Here's what you get:
Turn off the visibility of the layer "background", by clicking on the eye icon in the Layers palette:
Then select Edit> Define Brush Preset, to preserve the "striped" brush. Now let's turn our strips (Ctrl + T) and save another "striped" brush:
Now you can select a preset brush and make her mark. Settings Brush (Brush Tool) as follows:
brush flow and opacity = about 30% (make prints brush on a new layer, so you always have the opportunity to edit them, in this case, place a layer with the brush on top of the text layers).
Step 4
Now let's create the basis for our text effect. Create a new layer and place it under the text layers (called the «base»). Choose a brush with vertical stripes and do brush tip.
Select Filter> Distort> Twirl and set the following settings:
Press Ctrl + F, to apply the filter again, and here's what you should have:
With the transformation (Ctrl + T), reduce the size of the layer vertically, reduce its opacity (opacity) to about 30%, and then select the Eraser Tool (Eraser Tool (E)), that does not erase the very beautiful region of the layer.
Create a new layer above the «base», take a soft black brush (hardness = 0%) and draw a small shadow under the text
Step 5
Now let's create another object with our "striped" brush. Create a new layer above all layers, choose a tool Elliptical marquee tool and make a selection in the form of a circle (the circle has turned flat, hold down Shift). Choose a brush with vertical stripes and make the brush tip so as to fall within the range (sm.skrinshot). Please note that the brush Opacity = 50%.
Duplicate this layer (ctrl + J) and turn the duplicate layer by 90 degrees with the transformation (Ctrl + T):
Select both layers in the Layers palette and merge them into one (Ctrl + E). Here's what you get:
Press Ctrl + T, then right click on the image - and then transform Warp. Give the layer of the shape shown in the figure:
After you finish to give shape layer, duplicate this layer a few times. Resize the layer copies and place them in different places of your work, much like in the picture.
Tip: change the Opacity of the layer, using the Eraser (Eraser Tool, flow = 50%) remove the various parts (or edges) of these layers to your work seemed bulk.
Step 6
So, we're almost finished. Create a new layer above all layers, select the Brush tool (Brush Tool), soft brush, brush size - small, and make some "sparkling" fingerprint brush, as shown below:
Create another new layer on top of the layers, change the blending mode (Blend mode) this layer to «overlay», take a soft white brush and paint highlights on the text as shown in the figure below:
The author painted a different color text and apply a filter Lens Flare, to highlight certain parts of the text:
The final result!
The author has added the effect of various particles scattered around the text (for this you can use a variety of brushes). And then, finally, the final result!
