Turn your photo into gravure image
At home I have a collection of old books that I never read. I have them because their pages are illustrations made in engraving style, which I like very much. Step 01
For a start, before working with the photograph, you need to prepare like a hatch. That is repeated along a particular direction of the line, which is most easily done in Illustrator-e (a strong desire in Photoshop). For our venture we make wavy lines. Step 02
Launch Photoshop and also create a document with the dimensions of 1000 1000rh. Copy prepared in Illustrator lines and paste them into Photoshop, with it you will ask in what form you want to transfer the copied information - select option in pixels. Before pressing Enter, move the pasted lines so that they cover the entire working a canvas:
The process of copying the lines in Illustrator and then moving into Photoshop to repeat another 5-five times, but each time in Illustrator, to increase the thickness of the lines / stroke (set in a palette of Stroke). I used the following values: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Layers with a thick lines should be over their thinner counterparts. In the fourth layer of the workpiece rotate 90 ° clockwise to get the vertical direction of the lines of:

Then select all the resulting black area. In principle, the basic idea has already been implemented, but you can do something else. For example, I copied at the end of the fourth layer with vertical lines of medium thickness, removed the mask and invert it white - it's a little broke the line and made them broken.
